George A. Goeller Memorial youth program

This program will be created in honor of my father, George Goeller.

In 2016, my father was diagnosed with MDS, which is a form of blood cancer similar to Leukemia. He fought it bravely, with no complaints or regrets. As Carrie and I became his caregivers we spent a tremendous amount of time together talking. We spoke about so many things in these last years. One of the standout conversations revealed his lament that there were so many people with so much to give and teach, and so many young people who lacked skills and purpose and a strong moral foundation.  He shared our vision that this needed to be remedied (he used far more colorful language than that).

We lost him very suddenly, and over the last few days, in trying to find ways of honoring this extraordinary man, it seemed like this would be perfect way to do it. We will be putting together an advisory group in the coming days and weeks to discuss the structure and implementation of this program.

I learned more from my father than I could ever fully articulate. It is our intention to let that be the seed that grows something beautiful. The world is lesser for his absence.
